FHL Families

Mona Liza

Mona Liza moved from India to Canada about nine years ago and was introduced to FHL in 2018. She describes her experience with FHL as wonderful, as it provides immigrant families with essential resources like equipment, allowing children to engage in sports without financial burdens. She believes that activities like skating and skiing help kids stay active during Canada’s long winters and offers them a sense of belonging in their new environment. Mona hopes FHL continues to grow and help more kids explore sports like football and hockey.

Olesia

Olesia moved from Ukraine to Calgary in 2023 and discovered FHL Society shortly after arriving, which her son eagerly joined to participate in sports. After meeting Krista, the founder of FHL, her son began training in American football and has now completed his second season in hockey with the organization. Olesia wishes for FHL’s continued success and hopes it can offer support to more newcomers in Canada.
